On the right is my grandfather Yosef Bartnowski. He died in 1919 during the influenza epidemic. I've recently been able to identify the man on the left as Yakov Moishe Furman. He was last known to be in Buenos Aires. He was my grandfather's best friend in Zabludow. They worked together in the Zabludow leather factory. Many of his Furman family members where murdered in the Holocaust, but I have located some descendants in Buenos Aires, and in Sacramento California. In Argentina lives Abram and Leonardo Curyk (Tzuryk in Zabludow). Abram came to Argentina in 1928 at age two. His father was Benjamin Tzuryk, a tailor in Zabludow born in 1888, and immigrated to Argentina in 1927. Abram's mother was Cywa Furman, and his grandmother was Hatzkel Furman. Yacov Moishe Furman is the brother of Cywa Furman. Yacov Furman and his wife Bobel came to Argentina in 1937-38. In Argentina they were "backers" of the popular Bialystok Bialy or Bagel. In Sacramento California there lives sons of Yakov's sister Chanelie. Their surname is Hoper.
